Welcome to the Llansantffraid Glyn Ceiriog Community Council website

Welcome to our website which provides an overview of the work of the Council together with information regarding local businesses and events.

The Council covers an area situation around six miles from Offa’s Dyke, and consists of Glyn Ceiriog, the largest village in the Ceiriog Valley, Pandy and Nantyr. Approximately a third of the population Glyn Ceiriog, Pandy and Nantyr are first language Welsh speakers. Lloyd George described the Ceiriog Valley as ‘a little bit of heaven on earth’ and without doubt the valley is very beautiful and scenic. As a consequence the Valley attracts many walkers/ramblers and mountain bikers who enjoy the scenery and what is on offer.

There are many small businesses based in the Council’s catchment area although agriculture and tourism is very important to the local economy. Glyn Ceiriog, Pandy and Nantyr is very conveniently situated for daily commuting to Wrexham, Chester, Manchester and Liverpool.

A very warm welcome is extended to you to visit and enjoy what the Ceiriog Valley has to offer and in particular to visit the villages of Glyn CeiriogPandy and Nantyr.
